QR ordering for restaurants

Guests order from their own phones. Your kitchen gets it instantly.

Guests scan the QR card on their table, then order, call a waiter or ask for the bill right from their phone. Orders appear on your PC and print in the kitchen. No tablets to buy, and it keeps working when the internet is down.

  • No app for guests to install
  • Keeps working when the internet is down
  • Set up in an afternoon
How it works

From table to kitchen in three steps

1

Put a QR card on each table

Print a Wi-Fi sign and a card for each table, just once. Guests join your Wi-Fi and scan their table's card to open the menu.

2

Guests order from their phone

Photos, options and notes for the kitchen. Guests can also call a waiter, ask for water or request the bill.

3

Your team serves

Orders pop up on the PC with a sound and print in the kitchen. Split the pre-bill, keep track of who paid and close the table.

Features

Everything a busy floor needs, nothing it doesn't

  • 1 / 12

    QR ordering

A secret code per table, so orders always land on the right bill. Codes never expire unless you renew them.

  • 2 / 12

Your PC serves the menu over your Wi-Fi. If the internet drops, guests keep ordering. And the menu opens only on your restaurant's network.

  • 3 / 12

    Kitchen and bill printing

Tickets and pre-bills print on network receipt printers. With Standard or Pro, each dish prints at the station that makes it, or shows on a kitchen screen on any tablet or TV.

  • 4 / 12

    Requests from the table

Call a waiter, ask for the bill, water or anything else. With Pro, guests can also send the staff a message.

  • 5 / 12

    Bills that add up

Split the pre-bill evenly or by what each guest ordered, and keep track of who paid by cash, card or your own payment QR. Discounts and free dishes, plus guests' tips and several payment methods on one bill with Standard or Pro. It works next to your till, which gives the official receipt.

  • 6 / 12

    Easy menu editor

Photos, options, allergens, spice level, stock counts and, with Standard or Pro, dishes served at set hours and today's specials. Guests can search and filter the menu. One tap for sold out.

    Promotions

Happy hours, timed discounts and flash sales that pop up on guests' phones.

  • 8 / 12

FAQ

Questions restaurants ask

Do guests need to install an app?

No. They scan the QR card on their table and the menu opens in their phone's browser.

Does it need the internet?

Not for service. Ordering runs on your restaurant's own Wi-Fi, with your PC as the server, so service carries on when the internet is down. TouchMenu needs the internet to activate its license, and then at least once every 14 days to check it. After 14 days without a check it stops taking orders until it can connect again; your menu and orders are kept.

Can I see it before I buy?

The videos on this page show the real app at work, on a guest's phone and on the staff screens. To run TouchMenu in your restaurant you need a license key, which you get the moment you buy a plan. If it's not right for your restaurant, ask for a full refund within 14 days of your first payment.

Can someone order from outside the restaurant?

Not from home. The menu opens only on your restaurant's Wi-Fi, so a photo of a table's card doesn't work anywhere else. Someone in range of your Wi-Fi who knows its password could still connect. If a card goes missing, or a table gets orders nobody there sent, New QR code gives that table a new code and the old one stops working.

What equipment do I need?

A Windows 10 or 11 PC that stays on during service, a Wi-Fi router for guests, and optionally network receipt printers (ESC/POS, 58 or 80 mm) for the kitchen and bills. See the requirements.

Which languages does it speak?

Guests pick English, Mongolian, Russian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, German, Spanish or Italian on their phone. Each computer's staff screens and the printed tickets can use any of them.

What about guests who can't use a phone?

Staff can read them the menu and enter the order on the PC. It prints in the kitchen and goes on the table's bill like any other order. Keep a few printed menus too, for guests without a phone or who prefer paper.

Can guests pay on their phone?

Yes, with your own payment QR. Upload the QR from your bank or payment app once under Settings → Guests' phones. Guests see it with the amount to pay, pay in their own app and tap I've paid. The money goes straight to you, and your staff confirm it arrived. Cash and card still work, and a bill can be split.

Is TouchMenu a cash register?

No. TouchMenu takes orders, prints kitchen tickets and pre-bills, and keeps track of who paid. It is not a certified cash register, fiscal device or invoicing system (for example TSE/KassenSichV in Germany, NF525 in France, Verifactu in Spain, RT in Italy or e-barimt in Mongolia), and its bill is a pre-bill, not a tax receipt. Use it next to your own till or fiscal device, and give guests the receipt the law requires from there.

Does TouchMenu add VAT or sales tax?

No. Menu prices are the final prices guests pay, and bills show no tax line, so enter prices the way your law says guests must see them. Where tax must be shown separately or on an official receipt, for example US sales tax, give that receipt from your own till.

Where is my data kept?

On your own PC. Menus, orders and the activity log stay in your restaurant, with automatic daily backups.

Can I use one license on two computers?

A license runs on one computer at a time. When you move to a new PC, release the old one and activate the new one. If the old PC no longer works, write to support@touchmenu.app with your order number and we'll release it.

How do I cancel?

Your plan renews automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time before the renewal date from the link in your receipt email; the app keeps working until the end of the period you paid for. To change plan, use the same link rather than buying a second plan.

Ready to put TouchMenu on your tables?

Pick a plan, install the app on your PC, add your menu and print your table cards.
